About Linda Lyon
Linda, having lived in Illinois and Michigan for most of her life, made a "side visit" [during a vacation out East] to Kennebunkport in the summer of 1982. It only took three days there to convince her that she should return someday to make Maine her permanent residence. This goal materialized in 1993. Prior to her move, as a graduate of DePauw University with a BA degree in Honors English and an MA from the University of Michigan in Higher Education Administration, she has spent most of her professional career in the higher education setting. However, since 1998, she completed her career with a special opportunity to serve others as senior staff assistant [Portland office] to Maine's former senator, the Honorable Olympia J. Snowe. Linda has often stated how wonderful it was to work for "somebody I believe in"! "I loved helping people through Senator Snowe's office and miss that role now." However, Linda has stated that her best ongoing dual role continues to be that of Mom and Grandma Linda. As for her amateur photography hobby, Linda stated that she loves the medium of a camera because it is a visual tool to record any moment whose meaning cannot be conveyed by words alone.
